HOW YOU CAN HELP

While we cannot prevent wildfires in the Diamond Mountain Fire Safe Council (DMFSC) area, we can make people safer, slow the spread of fires, and minimize the damage to personal property and the natural environment.

DMFSC is an all-volunteer, community-led organization providing education about wildfire safety and wildfire preparedness, including guidance on creating defensible space, home hardening, and other actions to lessen the risk of damage from wildfires. In addition, we work with wildland resource specialists and fire professionals to identify projects to mitigate the risk from wildfires, such as identifying and upgrading alternative emergency exit roads, improving address and street signage, providing critical property information to first responders, and creating shaded fuel breaks.

While some of these projects are funded by public grants, grant money is not enough—we also need private donations to fully fund all the important work being done by DMFSC. Without your support this work would not be possible.
